Making a meaningful impact in our local community and beyond.
Here at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, we're committed to outreach beyond our membership. Each year, we have numerous outreach projects. Our ongoing projects are collecting non-perishable food items and clothing for Lutheran Social Service in Long Beach and preparing and serving a meal at Judy's Kitchen (a monthly feeding ministry in Los Alamitos).
There are several additional organizations that we partner with throughout the year, including Boys & Girls Club, Precious Life Shelter, Seafarer's Mission, Lutheran Disaster Response, Lutheran World Relief, and more.
Please see below for our upcoming Outreach events and how you can participate:
ELCA God's Work, Our Hands Day: Sunday, September 14, 10 am worship followed by assembling health kits for Navajo Nation, and a lite luncheon
Judy's Kitchen: Saturday, September 20 at 10 am, located at Community Congregational United Church of Christ (4111 Katella Ave., Los Alamitos)
Besides giving financial help to Lutheran Social Services of Orange County and Long Beach, we also have monthly food collections to help feed the needy in our area. You can call the church office to find out what the items of the month are.
Throughout the year, we also have special mission outreach projects such as Sea Farers, Judy’s Kitchen, the Christmas Angel Tree for military families, and the special Evangelical Lutheran Church in America’s “God’s Work, Our Hands” project. Watch for these projects in our upcoming newsletters.
